As parents, do we need to listen more and talk less?

My kid always gets really upset when I don’t listen to her, and it honestly makes me question if I’m doing something wrong as a dad. I try my best to be there for her, but sometimes it feels like I’m missing the mark.

I know parenting is tough, and I wonder if listening more and talking less could make a difference. Do you think we, as parents, should do that more? I’d really love to hear your thoughts or experiences on this.

Listen more, for sure. Its tough but 5-10 years down the line, she will appreciate what you did.

Listening more and talking less can really make a difference.

I've tried it with my own kid, and it's amazing how much more they open up when you give them the space to talk. As @hehehe said, I think it's worth giving it a shot

I would say about 80:20.

80 listening, 20 responding.

Perhaps we can make it 95:5 for better result.

Try to give your daughter your full attention when she's talking, even if it's just for a few minutes. Put down your phone and really focus on what she's saying.
