Monogamy is not the only form of marriage. Polygamy is an alternative form. Muslims, for instance, may have four wives. More rarely, in certain societies, a woman may marry more than one man. Some people experiment with Open Marriage - an arrangement that may involve multiple partners by either or both of the main parties.
