It's not only men who are boring on dating app. Women are equally boring.

Stopped initiating chats since a long time ago so I started a small experiment and wait for women I matched to initiate chat on app.

Guess what?

Most of the time they initiated by asking how are you?, how's your day?, what are you working as?

As a guy, we may think that girls dont reply cos we are boring. But it's not that. They just found someone else they want to chat with. That's all. So fellow guys, don't need to crack your head to think of creative lines because women's replies are just as boring. Those who expect guys to put in most of the effort while they themselves are boring can skip. Because they're being double standard. You're setting your own bar too high. So it's really ok to just say hi how are you?. If they really want to engage in a chat with you, they'd reply. If not skip.

That's my takeaway. How's yours?

If being funny or witty doesn't come naturally to you, it's really ok to say "Hi, how are you?", "Hello, how's your day?", or "Hi", and then talk about something in their profile. I believe for most people, being funny or witty is not one of the most important criteria to look for in a partner. Those who are looking for someone funny would expect you to keep up with it, are you able to do that?

Another thing is, you don't need to rack your brains thinking of some witty or funny opening line when you don't even know if you are talking to an inactive account or not. At the end of the day, got reply can already, and try to arrange for a meet up asap. Cos how the other person is like in real life matters more than texting behaviour, unless you just want to be texting buddies.
