UNI GRAD GETS JOB OFFER ASKING HIM TO DO "UNPAID LABOUR" TO SHOW HIS SKILLS
A bit of an irrelevant reply but many years ago, as in decades, my dad used to tell me Electrolux used this sales tactic that won them a lot of sales but the ire of the industry

Salesmen would go from door to door selling vacuum cleaners. They would allow the housewives to use the vacuum cleaners for free and if one week later, they were unsatisfied, they could return it to the salesman for free. No obligation. If they liked it, when the salesman returned, they just paid him the money for the vacuum cleaner

So many housewives just took it. It’s free. There is no law saying it cannot be done (it’s probably still the same now). One week later, many of them found the vacuum cleaner very useful and bought them. So that was how Electrolux won the sales

So in this case, perhaps the undergrad can use the unpaid labor to try to get her foot in the door of companies she liked. Who doesn’t want free labor? But of cos she must be very sure of the quality of her work and there might be companies who just want to exploit her. But it’s a tactic that could work

After studying and using taxpayer money for education, the least the uni grad can do is to contribute his/her expertise and earn money for his/her family and
continue giving back to society by contributing taxes. Otherwise, really wasted years of studies.
