I was sitting in a coffee shop, staring at nothing, when the barista walked up to me with a cookie. I didn’t order it, so I was a bit surprised. She smiled and said, “You looked like you needed this today. It’s on us.”

Since then, I’ve tried to do small things for others too like smiling at someone, holding the door, or just showing a little kindness. It’s amazing how much of a difference something small can make.
