Many of us are probably uncles and aunties now

Looking back

Did you regret your career choice? If you had a choice, would u have gone into a different career?

Did you do what you were studying for in Uni or poly or is your ultimate career choice something else?

Do you even have a career or are just just job hopping over the decades over different fields? - this is more of present tense cos it’s not really looking back but life now

I start first

I joined nursing cos of two reasons
- my sec school crush joined nursing
Unfortunately she quitted before the first day of school cos she said she would faint at the sight of blood

- my o level results were not good. Oh, I had many choices and nursing was my second last choice but the person at the counter said a male applying for nursing would get it. I got it. Sian. Then I remembered my crush and why I was even willing to put nursing as one of my choices

Why didn’t I back out after I know my crush had left the course? One reason is I disliked change. I mean I am already in the course. It’s a bit inconvenient to quit cos it’s not like u can just switch courses - remember my o levels were not great in the first place. Also, I signed a bond with the hospital so I couldn’t exactly just quit

Do I regret my career choice? No

I was sort of like borderline student, for 1st semester I fail 2 module, even my lecturer told me I confirm extend my poly, my class all mix up, finally I passed my poly but get a lousy GPA, my 1st job I work as container trading line, my boss's boss is a lao cb, everyday torture me by scolding me and throw things at me. I quit after 3 mths when they wanted to extend prohibition, at that time I really down becos I also broke up with my long time gf, then I went back sell hp for 6 mths until I get another job as QA in some shopping chain, the job was fun colly is really nice but progression is very limited. At the same time I also looking for another job in marine line, as I always wanted to do something in offshore. During my time in this QA job I also trying to apply for unisim to study marketing, my poly gpa so bad that even uni had to interview me before I get in.
Soon after i got a marketing job in a German marine company, which i can say I really enjoy working there, 1st job that let me fly to Germany for 2 weeks.
Then after I grad with my part time degree, I join an Danish company also offshore for 2 year then went back to selling lifting equipment, where this company let me travel to Pakistan, Taiwan, Philippines, Thailand, I even visit shan states in mymmanr.
However I find that still the opportunity is very limited to grow so I left the company to work for my ex colly in Dutch company.
This one ah lagi jialat, boss always like to f people to a extent it's too toxic to work, some more my boss give me India market wtf
lucky I apply for another job in oil and gas company and get in charge market that people will be envy of.
I can consider myself lucky to get the job I had now and in the past, all I can say that even though one can get bad in result, if you are hard working you can prevail.

Studied banking because my gf wanted to be a banker. After grad, she dumped me to date a banker. Didn't even have the courtesy to tell me.

It was not a field I was interested in. Lost interest in it because of what happened. So I switched. To me, job is just to earn money.

So what are u doing now? Something totally opposite? For example, imho, banking is in financial sector so even if u hated banking magnet you are not in banking but still in financial sector

Or u are totally out and maybe sign on army or something

dont sign on unless you prepare for it, but come to think about it my brother sign on police, now driving even better car than me

Time like this being able to survive is paramount. when u r hungry all theory out the window.
