Man, 80, dies after losing balance on SBS Transit bus

I read the posts on HWZ. I am neutral on the bus company’s decision not to release the CCTV footage. Cos there is the issue of confidentiality

All u need is a relative to be a siao lang. On the CCTV saw the grandfather fall, take a photo of the cctv footage and then post online to shame everyone who was on the bus or “ask if anyone know them for more info”. And now the cctv is leaked. So u might be a passenger who maybe heard something but dunno what happened and suddenly ur face is plastered all over Facebook as “prime witness”. And of cos indirectly you might be blamed cos social media might decide that u are close enough to act but didn’t

So how? Maybe u will say but this case the relatives are sane. Maybe. But once u start releasing, u cannot say don’t release for the next case cos that’s discrimination.

Anyways there was a court ruling on an earlier case where the judge said the bus driver is not mandated to wait for everyone to be seated before moving off or when already driving....

It’s tricky cos sometimes even if there is an empty seat, people might prefer to stand if getting off soon …
